Paper is part of Forum Communications, a pretty stable company with a few properties in the Midwest.

Lots of good hockey, including a 2011 Frozen Four champion, and a good D-II football program at Minnesota-Duluth (2010 D-II national champions). Area has quite a few marathons and running events as well.

Any guess what this would pay near the upper range? And yes, any insight on the job, too?

Don't know the pay. As for the job, there are three other sportswriters in the department. The big sport in town is Minnesota Duluth hockey, traditionally one of the better Division I programs in the country. Minnesota Duluth is Division II in its other sports. Prep hockey also is pretty big there. Duluth hosts a very popular marathon each spring as well.

Really pretty city in the summer. Cold as fuck in the winter, but the time or two I was there, seemed like an alright little place.

I loved viewing this city in the fall. City sets by a hill and the leaves were bright orange and gold... made for a great view coming across the bridge.

Now winter on the other hand...
