It's incredible to me that this whole thing was basically manufactured by one man, Sean Hannity.

Bundy is little more than a freeloader and fame whore. It's Sean Fucking Hannity, one of the biggest liars, hypocrites and general dipshits in the country, who's driving this train, and people are lapping it up.

As Jon Stewart pointed out, when you make Glen Beck look like the voice of reason then you've really cranked the crazy to 11.

Cliven Bundy is Joe The Rancher.

I was thinking the same thing when I heard this news yesterday.

It's funny, isn't it? When properly motivated, the press can get to the details of anyone's background in a timely fashion. They were able to get Joe the Plumber's driving record, and child support history within days. They've traced Bundy's genealogy and land history.

But, it took David Maraniss's book, published four years into the President's term for us to learn about the "composite characters" in President's Obama's book.

The genesis of one of the greatest corrections of all time:

Editors’ Note: The original version of this post inaccurately stated that Barack Obama had not revealed creating composite characters in his book, “Dreams from My Father.” An update to the post was added that Obama had acknowledged using composite characters in a reissue of the book. When POLITICO later learned that Obama had acknowledged in all editions of his book using composites, the incorrect information was removed from the post and a correction was added stating that Obama had, in fact, disclosed using composites in the first edition of his book. The correction should have included that the inaccurate information was removed from the post. In addition, while POLITICO’s general policy is to post corrections at the end of content, in this case, the error was significant enough that it should have been posted at the top.

Maraniss remains the first person to get to the bottom of who made up the composites.

From when he announced his candidacy, through his reelection, there was little interest in discovering who these people were who played such big role in shaping our President's decisions, and the direction of his life.

And, once we found out who they were, we learned how the story was shaped for convenience, beyond just the introduction of composite characters.

I'm glad to see the press won't just take Cliven Bundy at his word, when he tells us his history.

    RAHRRRRR!!! MEDIA BAD!!!!!

Translation, you desperately wanted this guy to be something other than a lying deadbeat. Now that it is becoming more and more clear that he is exactly those things, you are doing everything you can to change the topic and make the discussion even more political in hopes of getting the thread locked.

You think trolling qualifies as grown-up talk. Yeah, that figures.
