The innings have caught up with him.
It's not just the velocity, he's having trouble locating.
Like other pitchers, he's going to have to find other ways to get hitters out.

Sure looks that way, but they said the same thing about Lincecum when the Giants put him in the pen for the playoffs what, three years ago?

Turned out the guy could pump out his old stuff if he only had to worry about throwing 25 pitches rather than 90.

Ten years ago, it would've been battery and slingshot night at the ballpark.
    Success has made Boston soft.

I thought Diamond only performed that song at games in New York, like the 2013 All-Star Game.

Don't know. I'd guess the station found the photo of the empty seats, which is the point, and didn't pay much attention to the circle.

The Elias kid on Seattle almost worked his way out of the jam in bottom-6 before giving up the 2-out go-ahead hit to Hardy, but before that he got Cruz then Davis to look at strike 3. He's a really nice young lefty.

To that end, it's been kind of cool watching Bruce Chen mature. He threw 7.1 strong tonight.

    O's up 2-1 going top-9.

O's win 2-1 in their 7th straight 1-run game (5-2 record in them).

First time since '56 they've had as many 1-run games on the trot.
