Wanted: a leader in sports coverage
    Location:
    Buffalo, Wyoming
    Job Status: Full-time
    Salary: Negotiable
    Ad Expires:

    Description:

The Buffalo Bulletin, an award-winning weekly newspaper in Buffalo, Wyo., is seeking a leader to take over one of the best sports sections in the region while working in an area that inspired Ernest Hemingway.

The Bulletin’s sports section has expanded in recent years and is known throughout the community as the place to go for thorough coverage of local teams and athletes. The sports section primarily covers local prep sports in three towns that are passionate about their student-athletes. The section ventures out into the great outdoors and the rodeo arena during the summer. In the past, our sports reporters have covered everything from the NFL to youth wrestling, so you never know where this job can take you. With your office location ranging from the scenic Big Horn Mountains to high school gyms, one thing is certain – this is no desk job.

The ideal candidate for this position will have great news judgment, self-motivation, and no fear of dedication to providing excellent coverage. The sports editor will be able write compelling game stories, features and columns. The sports editor is also the primary photographer for the sports section and maintains our photo website.

An ability to work on deadline is a must. Strong photography skills are necessary. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. We offer a competitive starting salary and generous benefits packages, including a health insurance stipend, a health club membership for the whole family, paid vacation and a 401(k) program.

We are looking for someone who can relocate and start immediately. Please send your resume, clippings and photo samples, along with the names and contact information of three previous supervisors, to tom@buffalobulletin.com and robb@buffalobulletin.com.
