The combined newsroom of two suburban Pittsburgh dailies has a full-time position for an experienced universal desk editor with proven editing, design and pagination skills. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to edit news copy with confidence, write compelling headlines and cutlines, and produce creative layouts for news, sports and features pages. Proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop is a plus, as are the initiative and know-how to move into electronic media opportunities. A passion for the news is highly valued. Night and weekend hours are inevitable. Send resumes and work samples to Jim Pane, chief copy editor, Beaver County Times, 400 Fair Ave., Beaver, PA 15009. E-mail: jpane@timesonline.com.
