Deadspin says he writes just like those people on Wikipedia.

  2. Deadspin finds numerous Lynn Hoppes' passages identical to Wikipedia entries

Pretty thorough and pretty damning stuff from Isaac Rauch.

Not sure it's ethically quite as bad as plagiarizing another writer but looks bad.

On the positive side, it frees up more time for Hoppes' video projects. :D

    Wow is right.

The part about a word being randomly uppercase in both Hoppes' work and the Wikipedia page is pretty damning evidence that he did a strict cut-and-paste. That and some clumsy phrasing that just by coincidence appears in both places?

It's obvious that Deadspin has a hard-on for Hoppes. But given that, and after the Sarah Phillips fiasco that would have gotten plenty of people fired, he's got to be smart enough to toe the line. If he's not that smart (or probably more likely, is that cocky not to be bothered with it), then he definitely should be gone.

Stick a fork in him but I 'll bet you he'll be hired by someone fairly quickly. What he did in very embarrassing. Not that he was caught but how many times he did it. Very sloppy.

To me, this is an example of how technology is failing this business.

Would it surprise anyone if ESPN shrugs it off without a word and he keeps his job?

Interesting first comment beneath the post, if true.
