Dwight Howard: God will help Magic beat Lakers

Earlier, I asked Howard in the locker room to give me one or two reasons why I should consider picking the Magic to defeat the Lakers.

"God" was his answer, which was met with the counterargument that the Lord probably has better things to worry about than who wins a basketball game, and besides, religion and politics are usually best kept out of sports stories.

"That's the reason, I'm telling you," Howard replied.

Dwight Howard is a fantastic basketball player and a nice-enough-seeming human. However, he just lost 483 points in my heart.

Karma comes back to kick Kobe the Rapist in the butt once more. That would be fitting.

If something freaky happens in the series, maybe we'll all know Howard was right.

  4. Or, maybe, he's on mushrooms.

Did you notice, when Ernie Johnson leaned to him for a comment on the winners' podium last nite, how he stole the microphone for an extended speech.
Ernie kept trying to hold it, but Dwight gradually took it away.
He thanked God first, of course.

Let me get this straight: According to George Karl, Jesus couldn't stop Kobe Bryant. According to Dwight Howard, God will help the Magic beat the Lakers. I'm guessing God plays better defense than Jesus?

As a full-time Roman Catholic I can assure you the Holy Spirit is the defensive specialist.
