Advantage females. We can do curls whilst taking a dump or draining the silk igloo.

I remember reading that Mandarich story in SI and thinking "Am I really supposed to believe this dude isn't on 'roids?"

How about "THE INCREDIBLE BACKNE" for the back cover?

Two offensive linemen at my high school got into a fight over who would get to wear No. 79 (Mandarich's number at Michigan State)

The two things that really stick with me from that SI issue were Mandarich's weekly shopping list and the mock draft.

The mock draft started something like this...

    1. Dallas Cowboys, Troy Aikman, QB, UCLA - Mandarich is tempting...

You can look at the shopping list in the viewer, but I can't copy and paste it.

And let's not forget that Mandarich is a dirty Canuckistani.

It's never a good sign when four of the first five picks of the draft are either in the HOF or on their way and you have the other guy.

I have two friends that eat like that. They are trucks. Biggest people I have ever seen that aren't athletes. They work out for 2-3 hours a day, every day and spend another two hours taking protein shakes, eating and taking vitamins. They claim they don't do steroids which is probably true, because neither one is anywhere near as big as Mandarich.

    1. That grocery list, at 1987 prices, would easily run $500. Where was he getting the money to spend $100 a day on food? NCAA room-and-board scholarship limitations allow "reasonable" expenses for food, not feeding a barnyard full of hogs.

    2. 20+ pounds of red meat a week, another 5 pounds of cheese. You'd be spending three hours a day on the shitter.

That's because you are smarter than me.
Wowsers, 38 and half pounds of meat a week. No wonder he ate so much apple sauce, he needed help from nature's broom.

His brother John was a lineman for the Edmonton Eskimos and I remember reading he died of - I think - brain cancer related to steroid use.
