    That's one I remember as well. Bill James mentioned it pretty prominently is his opus essay about his history of being a KC Athletics/Royals fan in the 1986 Abstract.

    That one never gets old. "How could he *do* that?"


    In general, a football team being down 4-8 points with a minute or so to go getting the ball back. People really overestimate how often the comeback happens.

    Exactly. A blocked kick is the good kind of unexpected ...often a more exciting result than if the kick goes off. A bad example.
