I know some people who swear Monell's is the best restaurant in town. It has community seating, so you get to know your neighbors.

Hung out at BB King's late at night a couple times and the house band was very good. I agree with walking around on Broadway to start with. And Printer's Alley is cool, too

Anybody - anybody - who suggests anything about lower Broadway is disqualified from the Nashville conversation.

The club in Printer's Alley is called Fiddle and Steel, and it's everything a honky tonk should be.

"A Plate of Southern Vegetables $25" is not an inexpensive restaurant.

I was there at lunchtime. Not expensive for lunch, at least.

I went to Husk in Charleston. It was amazing and I thought worth every penny, but it was definitely an expensive dinner.

My son just e-mailed me to say he found your suggestions very helpful and to say thanks to you all. As do I.
