Description:

The Picayune Item, an award winning daily news publication, is seeking a full time sports writer/reporter.

The position involves reporting on local sporting events, as well as a wide variety of other topics.

Responsibilities include page layout, photography and web and social media posting.

Experience with InDesign and Photoshop is preferred. Previous sports writing experience or a degree in journalism or related field is required.

Picayune is located in Pearl River County, Miss., close to NASA Stennis Space Center, 50 miles northeast of New Orleans and 50 miles northwest of Gulfport.
