I think of it more like trying to kill the roaches by smashing them with rotting food. Trying to solve the problem by creating more of what causes it.

we may never know, but what outlet declined to offer the Gazan Health Ministery's explanation as fact when first reported?

It's funny to hear about all of these biased news reports.

Western media outlets have been taken in by, and repeated, propaganda on a number of occasions.

This is old, and has to do with the fight against Hezbollah in the North, but Hamas uses the same kind of propaganda:

If you think you aren't consuming propaganda on a daily basis, you're mistaken.

Plenty. I recall it being widely acknowledged that it was not known for sure where the strikes came from. And even the passages in Xan's link properly attribute the contention to its source, or did you not see the "...said a spokesman for the Gaza Health Ministry" part of the sentence? Those allegedly biased reports did not actually report it "as a fact", instead they reported the statement as what it was, one side's contention.

Now I think it is true that most people logically assumed the shells must've come from Israel--considering Israel was the side bombing the shit out Gaza at the time--but that doesn't mean that was reported "as a fact."

This is completely insane. Obama, like every recent American president, gives massive amounts of military aid to Israel, defends them at the UN and has done practically nothing to stop anything they've done in his presidency. Is it a knife in Israel's back to say that they should maybe stop colonizing the West Bank and move toward peace?

Ronald Reagan, hero to much of the pro-Israel faction in this country, restricted the flow of aid and weapons to Israel when they went too far. George H.W. Bush delayed aid to Israel to force them to come to peace negotiations and bragged about taking on Israel lobbyists. Obama, on the other hand, did not condemn a single Israel action until today and has not made a single move to stop arming them.

Based on his actions, Obama is much more pro-Israel than any recent Republican president. This cartoon is incredibly wrong-headed, and statements like this only prove that the pro-Israel crowd is far more anti-Obama than pro-Israel. And it doesn't say much about Netanyahu's good faith that he plays into that.

It's like you don't even know what the issues are. Have your read anything about Kerry's "negotiations"?

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan all hate Hamas. Egypt was working on an agreement that could bring about a cease-fire, but since Hamas didn't like that proposal, Kerry worked with two of Hamas' biggest supporters/enablers in Turkey and Qatar.

He brought the Israelis a proposal from them that gave Hamas everything they wanted.

It was rejected unanimously by Israel's cabinet.

Kerry is a buffoon. He's undermining our ally and helping a terrorist organization in the process.

This post is a microcosm of Americans' inability to have an honest discussion on this issue. Anything short of genuflection toward all things Israel means one is an idiot - if they're not an anti-Semite. Israel has been killing civilians with weapons we gave them for a month, our president won't even mention Israel in his statement on the latest school bombing. A real sharp one right between the shoulder blades, it was!
