Media days dying soon?

    Why pay to send people to a central spot for conference media days when it can be done via the Web?

    Speaking of which... while I'm not covering the SEC fiesta this week, I am covering the SWAC media day Tuesday...
    anyone else? Can I sit with you?

    Or it could be that Media Day is two hours long.

    And that during those two hours, the coaches and players say nothing newsworthy but the readers still expect front-page stories.

    Local PGA Tour stop gassed its media day this year. Let's hope they don't gas the free lunch since I can no longer write stuff off on the expense account.

    This whole videoconferencing thing just seems incredibly inconvenient and difficult.

    That's to accomodate media members who have had their work weeks cut to 32 hours. Those two-hour days come in handy.
