AP style question for 2009
«

Very quickly and seriously, if somebody has the newest AP guide or an online subscription.
During the Confederations Cup, every dateline was Johannesburg, with no South Africa.
The Americanized story out of the Bislett Games today was Oslo, no Norway.
In the style books we have -- and yes, we need new ones, but we don't have them today -- those would get the countries along with the cities.
Has AP changed its style on international datelines, or greatly expanded the ones that stand alone?
If somebody could do a quick check through either a new guide or an online subscription, I'd appreciate it.

That change came about five months ago. The online stylebook is the way to go as mentioned before. Immediate updates. And emails letting you know when things get changed.

I still say Panama City should take Fla. after it.

Funny story about that.
When I worked in Miami, the rules were:
Panama City (for Florida)
and
Panama City, Panama

It doesn't matter because we're all filing from AMMAN anyway.
