Redskins result predicts presidential winner
«
on:
November 02, 2008, 08:15:41 PM »
Found this pretty amazing. Since the franchise moved from Boston as the Braves, how the team fares in its final home game has almost always accurately predicted the presidential winner. If the Redskins won, the incumbent party won the election. If they lost, the challenging party lost. The streak was finally broken in 2004, but it had a good run. Dating back to 1936, it was 17 of 18 for 94.4 percent accuracy.

I'd rather be on the receiving end of a barbed-wire dildo than root for the Steelers.
But if McCain were to win, the next four years would seem like I'm on the receiving end of a barbed-wire dildo.

I know. Trust me, I'm hoping you can't bring yourself to do it. The last thing the Steelers need is Browns fans rooting for them.

Sorry, as much as I hated the "We dey" chant from the time I first heard it, that moment just brought me far too much joy.
And yes, I will be rooting for the Steelers tomorrow night for more than just my usual reasons.

I didn't read through this thread, but I'd like to correct one point made by Diabeetus.
The franchise was known as the Boston Braves for one season, 1932. From 1933 to 1936, the team was called the Boston Redskins.
They moved to Washington for the 1937 season as the Washington Redskins.
As for the "prediction" I think 2004 proved it's absolute bunk. And even if it weren't, I'm not going to root for the Steelers because of no Goddamn presidential election. Fuck that.
