Except pre-October polls would be filled with all the same biases as the preseason polls. Teams like 2006 Rutgers and 2007 Kansas took weeks -- 6-0 starts -- to crack the rankings. And teams like USC and Ohio State would still receive the benefit of the doubt, even with a loss here or there. The poll we see in four weeks would be the same if we waited to release a poll for the first time in four weeks.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice. But I do like KU better than the teams behind it, which include teams with question marks (Utah, TCU), three from the ACC (North Carolina, Miami, Florida State), two with losses (Florida State, Georgia), one that might lose the Big 12 North to KU (Nebraska goes to Lawrence), one that might be overrated (Notre Dame) and one that nearly lost to a I-AA school (Iowa).

In short, I see the bottom 10 as a crapshoot.

You're on the money about the whole U-M mess, slappy. And their fans.

I guess it's much easier to scapegoat some columnist than it is to realize they got sold a bill of goods when DickRod was hired.

Whole issue seems to be a tempest in a teapot. Lets see how they like Rich Rod 2 years from now when he has his system fully in with the players he needs to run it.

I figured we'd get a bit more chatter over here.

I was the idiot with 24 teams. Could not re-file due to workload. Sorry, slap. Will not happen again.

Actually you had 25 teams... but Utah twice... is OK... You are far from the only one...
