If you had a 12-team playoff this year, assuming auto bids for Power 5, the seeding would probably go:
    1 Alabama
    2 Michigan
    3 Georgia
    4 Cincinnati
    5 Notre Dame
    6 Ohio State
    7 Baylor
    8 Oklahoma State
    9 Mississippi
    10 Michigan State
    11 BYU
    12 Pittsburgh
Everyone team with fewer than three losses would make it except for one loss Louisiana and UTSA and two-loss Oklahoma.

If you assume auto bids for P5, isn’t Utah in?

Yeah I was thinking BYU when I meant to type Utah.

    1 Alabama
    2 Michigan
    3 Georgia
    4 Cincinnati
    5 Notre Dame
    6 Ohio State
    7 Baylor
    8 Oklahoma State
    9 Mississippi
    10 Michigan State
    11 Utah
    12 Pittsburgh
Everyone team with fewer than three losses would make it except for one loss Louisiana and UTSA and two-loss Oklahoma and BYU.

I think if you start to buckle the knees for a slide as a QB, you should be required to complete the slide. You're giving yourself up in exchange for protection. The rule doesn’t work if QB’s can do what Pickett did.

You can only do that if you don’t play that team again next season. The stakes were too high to send a goon out to bury him in that game, but early in a regular season game…?

Given the amount of shit talk their fans — and apparently this Kevin Hart looking bitch— were talking during the game the only problem here is Pitt didn’t beat them by more. Anyone see this forearm tossed by what looks like a coach or member of the support staff or we still debating a slide that wasn’t.

By the way, Wake’s front seven had three and a half more quarters to lay into the kid for the slide that wasn’t. What happened instead was Pitt’s secondary gave Sam Hartman nightmares and the whole team quit in the second half.

If we take the format from this summer as a guide, Georgia would slide down to No. 5 and Baylor would get the last bye. And other than an Ohio State-Michigan State rematch, all of the first-round games would be compelling.

It doesn’t matter if Michigan is ranked first or second. The Wolverines will face Georgia and Alabama will play Cincinnati

If everyone is so certain of the matchups, doesn’t that mean it’s largely fixed? And if so, why do you care about a corrupt minor league sport?

The games aren't fixed, the matchups are. College football is like boxing in that way, it's very real and very corrupt all at once.

Faking a slide is the definition of unsportsmanlike conduct. It’s there to protect the QB — by faking a slide you are forcing the defense to make contact the next time and potentially injure the QB.

I saw the play on video. The fake was very slight, almost a stutter step. He didn't really break stride to do it.
