Home renovations stars Chip and Joanna Gaines' company Magnolia is buying the longtime home of the Waco Tribune-Herald and plan to make the building its company headquarters. The Trib has been in that space for 70 years. The newspaper offices are moving from 100,000 square feet to about 3,500 square feet.

I am amazed how many friends I know who don’t live particularly close to Texas but have made the trip to Waco just to geek out in their fandom.

    Same.

I've never seen an episode, so I don't really get it says the guy who stopped in Pawhuska, because of that one show, and has plans to visit Laurel, because of that other show.

    IYKYK.

I’ve never been to Laurel for anything but a Waffle House stop, but that same show is apparently airing an episode next month about Wetumpka, Ala., that has the locals all fired up. Wonder if they’re renovating the Indian slots casino already?

Talk about a trend that needs to be shown the door ...

I was about to bring up Pawhuska. That whole town has boomed because of people visiting because of that one show. I still haven't been there, and I only live an hour away. Don't want to deal with the weekend crowds, and wife isn't usually off on weekdays.

Wetumpka won a national contest to get major renovations to numerous buildings by the Home Town crew. The folks there are excited for good reason.

Laurel's a small city (18k). If the Naismiths renovate 14 or so houses annually and work for 20 years, that's 280 houses, which is a big number in a small city. And some of the houses they fix up are definitely not high-end residences. They're already at more than 50 (yes, I have a list of houses the customers selected and the ones they turned down).

Nobody here better be messing with Ben and Erin. Absolutely love that show.

As long as they don’t mess with my kayak rental place a little north of the bridge they’re good with me.
