Drafting of @Liut , before the Seals and Scouts, name the last NHL team to relocate before 1976? (Not counting the Seals’s various NoCal name and arena changes).

I think it was the Ottawa Senators in 1933 which moved to St.Louis in 1934 and became the Eagles for a season before being deactivated due to the Depression.

I remember reading somewhere that either the Senators/Eagles franchise, or the Montreal Maroons remained on the books as a franchise until after WWII because there was hope that an investor would come forward and re-activate the franchise.

The NY Americans became the Brooklyn Americans for a season before folding, but I don’t think they were able to find a place in Brooklyn so they remained as the second-class tenants at MSG.

correct with the Senators becoming the Eagles, and the later half-hearted last Americans seasons in Brooklyn.

Before Ohtani tonight, who is the last American League pitcher to hit a home run in the first inning of a game?

    Tony Cloninger in 1966.

It was the first of his two grand slams in the game.

Edit: DAMMIT just noticed you said AL!

Like Cloninger, this pitcher did hit a grand slam, but not in the game where he homered in the first inning.

A good guess, but no. This pitcher's grand slam was in the World Series.

Then it has to be Dave McNally, the pride and joy of Billings, Mont.
