That’s all in extremely rural Eastern Kentucky.

If you’re the one living there, it still is an emergency. My parents live hundreds of miles away in middle Tennessee and just got their power back yesterday after losing it Tuesday.

I didn’t say it wasn’t. I used to work in that part of Kentucky. Just ID’ing the area for folks who may not be as familiar.

In the deep dark hills of eastern Kentucky ...
Where the comes up about 10 in the morning and the sun goes down about 3 in the day.

Boyd County is Ashland so it isn’t completely beyond the outer orbit of civilization.

Ted Cruz demands an immediate regulatory fix for the unregulated Texas electricity market.

Why does Ted Cruz hate capitalism and free markets? Asking for a friend.

Is there a real Magoffin County or is just somewhere that everyone talks about?

My dumbfuck Senator DOES realize that the Public Utility Commission of Texas told them to charge scarcity rates, right?!

Also the spin has started to blame Texas' power failures on Biden and the Department of Energy. Definitely not on the dudes who decided to cut corners and winterize the power plants, nope.

Also, today in the good ol' Metromess, it is 70 degrees. We get winter in very short spurts here.

All cold snaps end, even in New England. Snow melts. Ice melts. Broken pipes and what they cause, however, do not magically heal themselves. The amount of homeowners' insurance lawsuits in Texas this year may be astronomical in scope.
