    Agreed.

Next-worst was 2006 when the wideouts were Doug Gabriel, Reche Caldwell and half a season of a 35-year-old Troy Brown. Ben Watson at TE was the only sure thing.

And they were still one possession away from the Super Bowl.

I don't know where they stand vs. PFF either, but I've regularly had great success with their fantasy football spreadsheet, haha. Their DVOA this year was also pretty good. Top 6 was Saints, Bucs, Packers, Bills, Seahawks and Chiefs. Bottom 6 were Jets, Jags, Bengals, Broncos, Eagles and Lions.

    So does +/-

    What a terrible stat.

Especially since the entire league is within a few percentage points of each other. Nineteen quarterbacks completed between 65.0 and 69.2 percent last season. The two quarterbacks who started the Super Bowl ranked Nos. 16 and 19. Nos. 27 (Lamar Jackson) and 32 (Baker Mayfield) both won playoff games.
As long as you're at least in that range of competency between about 65 and 69 percent you're fine. If you're way above you're probably having a hell of a season. If you're way below you're having a terrible one.

Agreed. I wound up doing a blog post on Newton using similar stat comparisons. He averaged almost one yard more per attempt than Roethlisberger 7.2 to 6.3, and had two game winning drives as defined by pro-football-reference.com. MVP Aaron Rodgers had one. This was not to say Newton had a good season, because he sure as hell didn't. But it wasn't THAT bad. It wasn't Wentz or Darnold bad.

Averaging more yards per attempt than Roethlisberger this past season isn't saying much. That 6.3 yards per attempt had him tied for 29th in the league. Newton was 21st.

Of course you're right. I was just having a little fun with statistics for the benefit of Patriots' fans who think Newton was worse than Nathan Peterman. Right now on talk radio here, they're debating bringing Ben in as Newton's replacement. Honest!

They can have him. If they are lucky, he might give them half a season before he breaks down again.

Gotta love whoever negotiated that deal for Disney back in 2011. Way more money for inferior programming. Brilliant!
