If Trump turns off Twitter the day after he is elected and only comes out once a week with a press conference and all he says is "we are working on this and doing our best... USA! USA! USA!" he wins easily.

Twitter got him elected and it's what cost him re-election.

Based on stories I've heard about absentee parents, he fits the mold - didn't give a shit about his responsibilities, only wanted to do the fun stuff without doing the difficult things, showed up randomly and left a huge mess when he left.

Apparently Finance is a "select" committee, meaning you can't serve on others unless you get a waiver, which the story said wasn't common. She did get one in her first term, but again, not common. Everyone can blame leadership all they want, but if she's gonna hang her hat on being a finance expert, don't do anything that puts your seat on the committee in jeopardy.

I wasn't around for Buchanan but even recent "bad presidents" has some redeeming qualities or talents.
Carter might have been the most principled man to hold the office in our time and has, by any account, has been the best ex-president.
Nixon achieved stunning foreign policy achievements with China and Russia. Yes, he found a way to end the Vietnam War but could have had the same terms much earlier.
    W. did a much better job in the initial aftermath in 9-11 than anyone could have dared hope, and he was, at least, a class act as a human being (his speech the morning after Obama beat McCain is but one example).

Trump had zero, nada, nothing. He could have offset being a raging asshole with some accomplishments in the office. He could have been a decent person to offset the mess he made of everything, foreign and domestic.

He brought literally nothing to the table and leaves disgraced, with no meaningful accomplishments other than jump-starting the stock market with tax cuts for rich people. Big fucking deal. How much of that every trickled down to the middle class?

Yeah, I read the story. It seems like the best thing for the party would have been to keep her on Finance though, and not let her serve on Minor Committee Two, whatever the heck that was called. I don't even think she's that caustic of a figure, like AOC, who riles up the Fox News demographic. Porter mostly attacks CEOs and bankers.
