Of note, the players who were semifinalists last year and didn't make it back this year: Carl Banks (no longer eligible as a modern candidate), Ricky Watters, Simeon Rice

Peyton, Woodson and Megatron are locks. That leaves all those other guys fighting for like two places.

You really think Megatrons a lock?

Yep. Regarded as the best at his position throughout his playing career.

My guess would be Peyton, Woodson, Megatron, Faneca and Willis.

You didn't have to worry -- you don't go from finalist to not making the semifinals. Especially when you look at the new guys who made this list: Eric Allen, Anderson, Bennett Harrison

Given the lack of rhyme or reason, I'm taking nothing for granted.

Doubtful? Ever see him play? Ever look at his stats?

Some great irony about Peyton Manning and Charles Woodson in the same Hall of Fame class.

I got the joke. He missed one season early in his career and was extremely durable after that, with a heavy workload. Guess the joke is back on you because you didn't take the time to examine his record: averaged 14.3 regular season starts his last seven years with the Jaguars. That's pretty good for a featured running back.
