The federal government under Trump deserves a non-zero amount of credit for backing up the money trucks for vaccine research and pre-buys.

It's not much compared to the massive pile of blame he gets, but it's something.

 

The federal government under any president would have tried to expedite development of a vaccine. In this sense the Fatfuck junta demonstrates the Mendoza line.

(Remember also in the very first weeks of the pandemic back in March-April, when the development of vaccines first started getting public discussion, there were reports that the Fatfuck junta had contacted some European pharma companies and offered massive payments for a vaccine -- on the condition it was to be made available first only to Americans and only released worldwide after the US had reached saturation vaccination. Not surprisingly, nobody took them up on the offer, probably not wishing their production facilities to be destroyed by home-nation terror attacks when this news eventually got out.)

No previous president ever would have openly urged defiance (not just non-adherence) of preventive measures urged by medical professionals, thus dramatically turbocharging death totals.
