They should start the afternoon of the Super Bowl — Lakers-Heat (or Clippers).

Ballmer, "Explain your great past playoff success."
TL, "You see, LeBron can play like 110-120% of regular season minutes at 100-110% of his regular season effort. So, I just used that extra 10-30%. Voila! Finals here we come!"
    Ballmer - "You are hired!"

I've got no real idea if Lue can coach - his sample size, sans-LeBron, is six games. But LeBron was obviously OK with being coached by him, or having him serve as the figurehead coach, which makes it an OK hire at least to me. They had Doc Rivers, Jeff Van Gundy wasn't going to be a fit because of what he said about the players on TV, and D'Antoni might not want yet another high pressure media cooker job. Lue strikes me as a solid hire as a result.

Why? He’s better than Doc? He sat on the bench last year, next to Doc, and if they went with his decisions they would have won?

I believe both Kawhi and PG13 can opt out after this year. So the coach is whoever they want

From this site, reminder of the haul that Presti got for Paul:
    • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
    • Danilo Gallinari
    • Miami Heat 2021 unprotected first-round draft pick
    • Clippers 2022 unprotected first-round draft pick
    • Miami Heat 2023 protected 1 through 14 first-round draft pick
    • Right to swap 2023 first-round pick with Clippers
    • Clippers 2024 unprotected first-round draft pick
    • Right to swap 2025 first-round pick with Clippers
    • Clippers 2026 unprotected first-round draft pick

If you're the Clippers you just keep telling yourself two things...

    1) If you don't make that deal you don't get Kawhi, so it's a little easier to swallow...

and 2) Those picks are likely to be really late first-rounders, lessening the value a bit. (Unless Kawhi and PG leave, in which case the Clippers picks could be pretty good.)
