Heh. As I mentioned before, we had a bit of an estate kerfuffle when my father died in February. My brothers all agreed that my wife could have my dad's car.

Step-mom pitched a fit, accused us of trying to steal the car from her. Claimed that in my father's last days he looked out the window at the car and told her he wanted her to have it.

She hasn't driven in more than a decade. She's a goddamn liar.

Yeah, in no way is that the same. But RBG's dying wish doesn't matter. It wasn't up to her. What was up to her was retiring when she was over 80 and the Ds held the presidency and senate.

From Trump's perspective, shouldn't the play be to dangle a Supreme Court appointment out for the election. He doesn't care what happens after him, so it's not like he'd feel bad about missing the chance if he doesn't get re-elected. And he can get more people who would hold their noses and vote for him because there's a Supreme Court seat in the line. If the seat is already filled, there's less incentive for people who don't like him but do like conservative judges to vote for him.
