Will COVID-19 be the needle that finally bursts the sports bubble?

Seems about right, bubbles are the only safe way to resume sports in the USA.

This is what high school soccer will look like in Massachusetts this fall. No throw-ins, shoulder-to-shoulder contact, sliding tackles, intentional heading and walls on free kicks.

I played soccer in high school.

I would quit before playing under those rules.

 

With all of the science telling us this is a virus that is predominantly transmitted airborne, all of this sanitizing of balls and other sports equipment is all for show at this point.

Better safe than sorry. Wiping things down won't hurt anything and it might help. In terms of public health it's an outright good thing.
