Curious what Gavin Newsom does with the seat. Harris as Veep makes a run for President by Newsom unlikely for at least eight years (He's only 52 and has three years left on his first term, another four maybe) - but will Dems nominate back to back Californians for the WH? (If Harris does end up in the Oval). My guess is he nominates an olderish person (respected, but not likely to do much beyond Harris' term and perhaps one more) and be ready to run for the seat once he's done as Governor.

 

In my dream world, VP Harris would be given the role of heading up the Truth and Reconciliation Committee and work with AG Schiff in heading up the rooting out of the past four years of criminal activities by the Trump clan, with two main goals: (1) trials for treason and (2) codifying into law the customary norms of democracy that this ilk has ignored, things like full funding for voting by mail, releases of taxes by presidential candidates, and the ignoring of Congressional subpoenas.

Meanwhile, President Biden is busy overseeing the economic recovery, which will be far more difficult than the one he was instrumental in implementing 12 years ago. He'll be supported by Secretary of Commerce Elizabeth Warren, Treasury Secretary Jamie Dimon, and HHS Secretary Katie Porter. And all the while, the GOP continues to go down the Q-Anon, racist rabbit hole even further, thus assuring its final destruction even at the local level in most of the country.

 

Despite yours and Fox News' best efforts, you do realize soon-to-be-former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard has as much political clout these days as...

 

Schiff needs to stay exactly where he is.

 

Especially since the few "housewives" I know these days are all better known as "homeschool teachers."
