First thought would be Raymond Berry but he’s in the Hall.

Next guess would be Tommy McDonald, but I think he’s in the Hall, too.

Then I thought Bobby Mitchell, but he’s in the Hall, too.

    So I give up.

YA's favorite target, Del Shofner. He was a machine in the Giants' 1960s heyday.

It is del shofner. Almost totally forgotten now, but was five times an all pro.

Long before Bo Jackson gained fame as a two-sport star, there were some others. Some fun trivia:

Which pro football hall of fame member hit a home run in his first MLB at bat?

Name the pro football hall of famer who gave up home runs to Babe Ruth?

Name the two Baseball Hall of Fame pitchers who played in the 1902 NFL, an early attempt at a pro football league.

    George Halas?

    Ernie Nevers?

    Christy Mathewson and Rube Waddell.

The pitcher who was taken deep by Ruth would be Ernie Nevers, right?

Not a question, but this surprised me. Justin Upton hit his 300th career home run last night and it put him 150th on the all-time list.

I would have thought more players had hit at least 300 homers.

I don't think Halas hit any home runs. He barely played, right?

Nevers got taken yard twice. Also, despite his speed, he apparently never attempted a stolen base in his career. Of course, he played for the Browns. Or he may have had that in his contract. Aka, I make money playing football so don’t make me run here.
