SEC ADs meeting Monday. I doubt they'll do it then, but an announcement of a schedule confined to conference games would likely trigger a Smiths moment: Panic on the streets of Birmingham.

No doubt. I mean, those Saturday games before Thanksgiving that will be dreadfully missed in place of playing -- gasp -- teams in your own conference.

    New Mexico State at Florida
    Troy at Tennessee
    Wofford at South Carolina
    Georgia Southern at Mississippi
    Louisiana at Missouri
Louisiana-Monroe at Arkansas (granted this likely is a league game considering where the Hogs are the past two decades)
Louisiana Tech at Vanderbilt (granted this likely is a league game considering where Vanderbilt has been in the SEC the past eight decades)
    Alabama A&M at Mississippi

I totally agree. The panic would emanate mainly from the Sun Belt, which loses eight lucrative play dates at SEC teams.
There might be some angst from Gamecocks fans over losing the chance to play Clemson, get killed and then claim they're still a relevant national program because "2001."

I look for the SEC to go in conference only, following the crowd. I also expect the SEC to be the very dead last to admit that they can't play - or to play until forced to shut down. They want that sweet sweet TV money.

They also want to be last so they can be separate from the rest of America. Just like the good old days they still revere.

But if the SEC goes conference schedules only, that's like 6 games of football.

Big XII is kinda screwed with only 10 schools. Maybe they could add BYU?

None of these games are going to be played.
Not sure why people keep going through these mental gymnastics.

The SEC can afford to wait
Unlike the Big Ten, spring football is an option

Standard SEC conference schedule is eight games (six from your division, two from the other), and it wouldn’t be that difficult to add two more from the other division.

In the long run, this entire debate is rhetorical.
