    I loved that the old guys didn’t need their rings kissed. Seinfeld clearly respects them, but there was no hierarchy. It was also apparent that they respected his place in the comedy world.

    Mel and Carl just came off as being very in the now.

    A LONG time ago, he was also part of the cast of Your Show of Shows with Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca. It was TV sketch comedy well before Monty Python came onto the scene.

    Originally wanted to be a big league pitcher as a kid. I imagine most kids during that generation wanted to be a ballplayer.

    Carl Reiner's best friend was Mel Brooks, who was frequently over at the house.

    Carl's son Rob's best friend in high school was Albert Brooks, who was frequently over at the house.

    I can't even imagine what that was like. That's three of the funniest people on Earth (and Rob is no slouch).
