    "Uh... I forgot. Sorry."

As to the tracking app, default position is "If I'm paying the bill, it's going to be on there." It gets harder if she is funding it, then you have to pressure, wheedle and plead.

That excuse won’t get her back behind the wheel any time soon.

She was actually very respectful about the tracking app. She asked if we could go without it and explained her reasons, but said she will go along with whatever we decide is right. I have no problem with her asking.

She should be. You have no idea who else is getting that data.

Also a good point. Her angle was more about trust and respect.

    She’s right about that, too.

When my kid got her license last year, she argued against the tracking app. So we went the texting route. It became second nature for her and she's only forgotten once or twice in 17 months. And she hasn't had an accident. So far.

Meanwhile, @outofplace’s daughter has gone to the gas station for the first time.

To be honest, I agree with you. Mrs. OOP, however, does not.

I think part of the difference is who we were as teenagers. My wife got in a lot more trouble and got away with a lot more shit that should have gotten her in trouble. :)

My daughter is smarter than that, but my wife and I would absolutely react in a similar fashion if our little one were ever to do something like that.

Same here. He came with the name and responds to it. It wouldn’t have been our choice, but there you go.
