76 degrees and 59% humidity at 3:30 pm in Alabama in June. I pinched myself and I'm awake, but its still a dream.

Two days before summer, top of Loveland Pass.

This is good. It's been too hot and dry. We need all the moisture we can get.

Anyone else experiencing the Sahara dust cloud today? It's been crazy here since about 10 a.m. The visibility is cut down to probably less than a mile, certainly no more than a mile and a half.

After a pretty impressive ice storm, we’ve been without power for two days. We’re living like the olden days. The novelty is beginning to wear off.

Ice storms are the worst. They're not life threatening immediately like hurricanes or tornadoes, but a prolonged power (and thus heat) loss in a New England winter is not optimal. And they take power crews a long time to repair if you live in rural areas (Massachusetts is the most heavily tree-covered state in the union).
