For the heathens among us (me!), what makes it better than, say, Hellman's?

It isn't as bland. It just tastes better. Buy a little jar, you won't go back to Hellman's.

At the risk of coming across as some sort of foodie - that statement will trigger guffaws with anyone who even sorta knows me - it's subtle enough not to overpower, yet strong enough to be there. Kind of why we seek condiments on some foods.

In fairness, there's zero wrong with Kraft or Hellman's. But, given the choice, it's Duke's and it's not close.

I liked Blue Star mayo, made in New Orleans back in the day.

I'm not a big fan of mayonnaise. I'm an even less fan of Miracle Whip.
If I were to choose one, it's ABSOLUTELY Hellmans.

At my local supermarket Duke’s is way better than Kraft, etc. and it’s actually cheaper. I usually get two bottles at a time.
