On one of the NBA pods, they talked about airing on a slight delay to take into account the need to bleep audible player profanity. Would definitely impact my willingness to live bet until I had more details.

Aren't there already delays on NBA broadcasts? Especially on ESPN where you can hear the audio go silent now and then.

Good story. It's definitely going to be different. Just saw a big casino in Oklahoma reopened today with long lines. Temperature checks to get in, masks. No table games. I figured there would be no more touching of cards, but I was wondering about chips.

The logistics of all this is nuts, such as to think you can't break into a hot craps table even though it looks like there's space but there really isn't because it's maxed out via social distancing. And that story said four-person max poker tables, that's very different.

Yup on poker. Also, face-up cards for single- and double-deck blackjack will really bring out the card counters. One place out here does double deck face up out of a shoe(!!). Interesting about raising the minimums during the week on blackjack and roulette.

I think people will flock back to the casinos. Deadwood reopened three weeks ago and had a huge turnout. Oklahoma today. Mississippi and Louisiana as well.

I know the casinos are smarter than I am, but I'm going to need an explanation on why raising minimums midweek is a good idea.

Just spitballing: They're only at 25 percent capacity and they see the demand of people wanting to play so they feel they can raise the limits and people will still play. No idea if limits were raised elsewhere.

Proven fact, a $10 bj table with 3 players makes more money than a $5 table with six players.

If there is demand for play, especially as things reopen, the limits will go up to meet the demand.

Morongo in SoCal scheduled its reopening last Friday for 2 p.m. There were so many people in line, they opened at 11:30 a.m. From some of the clips I've seen, it just doesn't look fun. I don't think I even want to go with so many restrictions.

With fewer players at a table, you'll get more HPH - "hands per hour". When I was a blackjack dealer 25+ years ago, I was considered a prime dealer because I had a very high HPH rate. Those "old lady" tables, with seven people at $3 minimums are a grind for everyone.

I just fear, more, for the future of 3:2 blackjack with so many places going 6:5. Even plenty of Midwest casinos are 6:5 and suckers line up for it.

Next time you can, watch an NBA broadcast while also watching your phone app on the same game as it's updating the live-betting lines.

You'll see the total drop on your phone from 217.5 to 216.5... and, seconds later, on the broadcast, a shot clangs off and goes to the defense. I'd like to be able to live bet from the venue as I see it in real-time.

How do the books stay ahead? Do they have a human who sits inside the venue and simply tallies what happens... and the algo does the rest?

F that noise. It's why I won't play single deck. They pull that on double deck, screw that. Though 3:2 might go the way of the dealer staying on soft 17 and people will adapt because, well, gambling.

And I think the "old lady" tables will be going away because they won't be busing in the old ladies to hog up those tables.
