If Biden is elected and the Democrats control the Senate (and keep the House), the first priority should be a series of bills that prevent the sort of executive overreach and partisan gridlock in which the RepubliKKKans have come to excel. Everything from preventing a President from firing an IG to ensuring that all SCOTUS nominees are voted on within 60 days of the death or retirement of a justice.

Because dismissing the lethality of this virus will lead to even more unnecessary deaths. Trump did this for two months and put us in the path of a rolling snowball of misery.
"It's just like the flu," Trumpists told us. Even if the current mortality rate, an inflated 6%, drops to 1% when all the positive test results have been processed and all the body bags have been filled, the Trumpandemic will be 10 times more deadly than the common flu. By the end of this week, the Trumpandemic's death toll will exceed the high-end estimate of the deadliest flu year in at least the past decade.
"It'll go away. Just like that," Trump told us. Seven weeks later, it hasn't left the ring. (Subtle Warren Zevon reference.)
"Greatest sports summer ever," an SEC armchair epidemiologist told us in March. Sure it is. If you think a summer without baseball, the NBA and NHL playoffs and NFL preseason is sufficient, that is.
The governors of Georgia and Florida are covering up their states' true death counts. Their lord and savior in DC has now abdicated his role as the nominal leader of the country because this thing is too hard for his infantile brain to manage or tolerate.
The final death count -- whatever it ends up being -- will be minimal when compared to what it would have been if SEC governors and their Confederate flag-waving sympathizers across the country had had their way and nothing had ever been done.

And yet, all the SEC states combined have barely one-third of the deaths of New York.

In 2016, Trump beat Clinton by 211,ooo votes and 174,000 votes went to other candidates -- it's not that far-fetched since there will be X-amount of people who voted Trump last time and have seen disaster of the last three years and the X-number that weren't voting Clinton no matter what.

So far, 26 of 42 states with reliable information have reported excessive deaths from March 15-April 25. And they have combined for 55,550 more deaths than history suggests they should have had. Not on that list: Connecticut, which has been ravaged.

If that's the case, DJT, pop that shit 'til the cows come home.

It is really hard to believe any man is this much of an idiot. Let alone one who even RAN for president, much less won. (Through Russia's help and a terrible opponent's presence.)
