I have a constitutional right to run my smoker, even if I live downtown in a small city, with neighbors in close proximity ... right?

When I was starting up my fire for a couple racks of ribs, I made a small cloud and it clearly hacked the neighbor off.

I'd cook dinner on it every night for a week.

Where I live, the smell of a smoker is as normal as a sunrise.
The only thing a neighbor is going to say is, "What time do we eat?"

A smart neighbor would say "Damn, that smells great! What are you cooking?" and hope for an invite.

I thought this was about the ganja. Oh I plan on exercising my duly legal right... when the time is right.
Blessed with cool neighbors. That has not always been the case.
I fired up the fucker last night with snow flurries bouncing around.

When it became clear that they were huffy, I told him “hey man I make really great ribs, and I’ll be happy to share in a few hours.”

Truthfully I only made two racks and I hope they don’t take me up on it.

    Speaking of smoking ...

If you don’t have one yet, get the grill thermometer that connects to your phone.

Mine has four ports for probes, and comes with an ambient temperature probe. It makes keeping an eye on the smoker so easy.

I regularly have the angel on one shoulder, devil on the other thoughts about buying a Green Egg or Kamado Joe. I haven't succumbed yet, but the time is drawing nigh.

    I miss my smoker.
Smoked turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas were highlights of the year
