    Of course.

    All those state governments should have long since locked themselves up tight and requested aid and advice from the federal government.

    But you see what's happening.

    I do. I think the bulk of the media coverage - which is what the media can control - needs to shift, soon, to the southern states. Cuomo - who's done a good and necessary job, no doubt - has a nightly forum with his brother, if he needs the pulpit.

    Agreed.

    But in straitened times like these, there are fewer resources to devote to more distant coverage.

    I think those reports will follow the path of the outbreak itself. Right now the national outlets are reporting from New Orleans and Atlanta and Birmingham and Tallahassee.

    Eventually those reporters will track the story out to the smaller cities.

    NYT: U.S. now has the most cases in the world, surpassing Spain and China. Johns Hopkins site doesn't reflect that but it's only a matter of time.
