    Globetrotters Legend. Dribbler extraordinaire.

Sorry for the video title - it really is the longest and best highlight reel I could find.

Meadowlark. Curly. Marques. Tex. Geese. Some amazing players with amazing skills. Playing "Sweet Georgia Brown" in his memory today.

They were so great! My first live basketball game was a HG game at the Muni. The next one, Vanderbilt versus somebody, was kind of a letdown, but then again, I was six.

    Goose Tatum, singular. Not plural.

My sister and I saw them in the middish 1970s — I still think I have the ticket stub somewhere; I'm not a hoarder ... not really — when Neal and Lemon and such were with the team. Tremendous showmen.

In maumann's defense, IIRC they had a Geese Ausbie.

    RIP.

Saw them in SoCal one year. Always fascinated watching them. So much fun.

    RIP.

Bless Wide World of Sports for bringing the 'Trotters into my living room when I was a kid.

    Rest.

Saw them as a kid at MSG in the early 80s, and multiple times in the last decade with the kids. Always fun to watch.

Sweet Lou Dunbar was awesome too.

RIP Curly. Scooby Doo will never be the same.

Yeah, Goose was before my time. Geese Ausbie was my reference. However, Gooses, Geeses, Mices, Meeses.

Goose was really the first Globetrotter "clown" (top comedy star). They started out in the late 1920s as a serious team, started doing a few fun tricks during blowouts in the 1930s, then evolved in the 1940s to a mostly-comedy act with Tatum as the funnyman. They did beat the Minneapolis Lakers in some playing it straight series.
