I find it too easy to blow through $200 in about 10 minutes at casino blackjack. I like to play Let It Ride, at which $100 is usually good for at least an hour's worth of entertainment. It helps that I've won $2K+ on multiple occasions playing that game.

    Mexican and Turkish soccer.

The Turkish and Russian leagues are notoriously low scoring. Play totals. 2 or under every time.

I'm happy that with the C-19 cloud and my general tightwadness I made it out of Vegas without playing any gaming. Watched my buddy drop $200 in roulette in like 15 mins too. Golf, cocktails and dinners were good.

I never expected to see a mention of Let It Ride on here. Every time I say I play it, the other person has never heard of it. It's confusing to try to explain, but you can learn all about it in less than 5 minutes.
I only started playing because of my brother. He is legally blind but can see a little bit (retinitis pigmentosa is his condition, he has channel or tunnel vision). In LIR, the cards are put right in front of him and the dealer's cards are in the same place every hand. It doesn't matter what other players have. So he can focus in on the game. He can play blackjack, but doesn't feel comfortable because the dealers flip the cards all over the place and looking at how the hits come around the table is important.
I only played LIR so we could be at the same table, although me being with him isn't always required. I grew to enjoy the game because it is relatively mindless, you can sit there and relax (drink) with the only decisions being whether you're going to pull back a bet or try to fill out that straight or flush. It's a game in which you have to be very patient. You might lose 10 or 12 hands in a row, then get a $300 or $500 winner.

In Vegas, we go to the Orleans. It suits our needs. We have been there a bunch of times and my brother can find his way around if he needs to -- coffee, bathrooms, the LIR table, most convenient bar. But we went in February and the LIR table was gone. We asked and were told that the company they bought it from stopped servicing it and their in-house engineering (fix-it) people didn't want to mess with it anymore. They replaced it with a game called High Card Flush. It is more confusing than LIR. Even after a couple of days when I thought I knew the best ways to play, I still never figured out the payouts. If I won a hand, they could have paid me anything and I wouldn't have known the difference.

We did go to Bally's ($16 parking, until they told us that my brother being a military veteran gave us free parking) and they had LIR tables. The usual $1 bonus was $5. We played there a little while and I lost my ass, so I spent considerable time drinking at the bar and playing video poker. But in our discussions with the Orleans pit boss, my brother told them that he likes to play LIR and we had to go to a different casino to play it. I'm sure it will have zero affect, but telling them we left their casino and went to another, when we really didn't want to, had to at least perk their ears.

Sorry to hear that about your brother and your experience at the Orleans. It really is a fun game, and if you get a table with decent personalities it's even better. You're all kind of in it together, so it's fun rooting for the other people at your table and celebrating their wins, too. Takes some of the sting off those 10- to 12-hand losing streaks. I generally try to buy in for at least 20x the minimum bet, mostly because I don't think I've ever lost more than 16 hands in a row. Eventually, you get a no-brainer that allows you to get back into the action.

I've had two $2,400 winning hands and been at the table when my wife got one and my cousin got one (four of a kind on all four hands, plus bonuses). It's a blast when you get three jacks in your hand and ask the table if anyone else has one and everyone else says no. As you noted, it's easy to learn to play, which makes it pretty friendly for people who aren't big gamblers. My normal game is poker, but if I'm at the casino with my wife, she doesn't want to sit and watch me play, so Let It Ride is a nice, social alternative.

As a gambler, you and your brother should check out Face-up Pal Gow poker. Only worried about his hand and the dealer's. Also, the dealer shows first. Slow paced and a lot of pushing, so doesn't kill the bankroll.

Doing well on Turkish soccer and won Aussie rules football in the middle of the night.

I'm taking a lot of O2.5 totals on the Aussie soccer for Friday.

If you’re in a place where, say, you need to kill time at a casino, play this or mini-baccarat at a packed table. Hands per hour is slow.

Plus the entertainment value is VERY high if you’re at a baccarat table with Asian players. Lots of excited yelling when the last card comes out if there is side bet action.

Pai Gow Poker is my go to for just hanging out and enjoying an adult beverage. Pushing puts the brakes on any wild swings. New deck every hand helps as well. Never played the face up version.

I bow in your direction. I just can't get into anything else right now, which is good for the football bankroll. When the leagues come back, I'm sure DraftKings and FanDuel will roll out crazy promos to get people back. Not that most will need any nudge.
