If we could all be a (roughly what you were) 3:1 favorite going to the river, we wouldn't win them all, but I would like my chances at least 7 out of 10 hands.

This guy always smelled like a fraud, yet Darren Rovell glorified him in a nauseating story on The Action Network. A guy nicknamed "Parlay" is eventually going to get his ass kicked, though in this case it might be in jail.

This is the reason why I say bettors love seeing me at the table. I am there for entertainment value, not the long run, and with adult beverages involved, don’t have mental stamina (okay desire) to process all that during a hand.

I truly admire those who have the capacity to do so.

The odds don't always go the right way.
I've seen (and been in) hands that there's one card in the deck that can save the drowning man, and son of a bitch if he doesn't catch the dingy.

Kind of a dumb question - but does it make a difference if a crime is committed with regard to legal betting as opposed to illegal betting? If you beat up a bookie at the bar is it just assault as opposed to beating up a ticket seller at state-operated or state-authorized book?

It took a lot of practice in my 20s to get that way. And even now, I’m not someone who calculates it down to 63.3 percent or whatever. For me, it's usually a pretty rough estimate. After not playing for a while, it took a bit of a conscious effort to make sure I add the pot up in my head as I go, but I'm back to doing it pretty instinctively. The pot odds, number of outs and things like that come pretty easily again.

Reading other players is still a bit of a weak point in my game, although I did well with it yesterday. Twice I put other players on the exact hand they were playing, although one of those hands I was not involved in. I'm trying to be really conscious of remembering each step of the hand and formulating what story they're telling me with how they bet, call, check, etc. I've talked myself out of a few winning hands, in doing so, but I also had a decent post flop laydown of pocket kings that likely saved me my entire stack.

Not a bad question, and we might find the answer someday when a guy fails to check his ticket at the window and finds out he bet the loser instead of the winner.

Casinos still open here so blackjack, though spring break is bringing out idiots who have no damn clue what they're doing.

I love casino blackjack. I won’t be going to a casino anytime soon.
