A couple teams make the playoffs already who have no shot.

The differences between the current sixth and last team in and the teams they just beat out are marginal now. I believe the 2005 Steelers are the only sixth seed to win it all, and they were an underachieving team with talent, not a plucky underdog.

NFL is gonna fuck this up. There’s no clamor whatsoever for a 17th game and expanded playoffs. If they’re going to do that, it’s time for contracts to be guaranteed for the life of them.

It means the Lions can finish 9-8 and get their ass kicked in a playoff game instead of bitching about just missing out

The only fan demand this meets is putting Super Bowl Sunday on a long weekend. I don't think anyone was asking for an earlier, shittier version of the Houston Texans 4:35 EST Saturday Wild Card Classic. That said, we'll all tune in, and the ad revenue will be flowing.

The 2010 Packers were a six seed as well

Correct as usual, Della. Thank you for fixing my mistake. Didn't they have to do without Rodgers for a portion of that season?

Agreed, there is no clamoring for this. But yes, we will watch.

I'll be interested to see how this is rolled out.

-- Is there a second bye? There should be, tied to playing on Thursdays. This would push the Super Bowl to Presidents Day weekend.

-- Which teams get the extra home game? Or are they all neutral site/international games? Or does it rotate from one year to the next. Team A gets eight home regular-season games and two preseason home games one year and the next year they get nine home regular-season games and one home preseason game.

-- The schedule matchup. The league since the expansion to 32 teams has had a clean way of determining opponents. Other than two games where you play against teams in your conference based on which place you finish in the previous year, the opponents (home and away) are determined years out. So how is this 17th matchup going to be determined that makes it (mostly) the same for teams within a division.

TMZ: According to the docs, Robinson and Bray were NOT reentering the country from Mexico -- rather they were trying to get from Los Angeles to Louisiana and hit the checkpoint on the way.

What fucking morons. Why on earth would you drive anywhere NEAR the border if you're muling drugs from LA to Louisiana?

Fucking morons. Never send an American to do a job an immigrant can do. They do it better, smarter and cheaper than these amateur dildos.

Robinson has made almost $30 million in his career. But apparently that wasn't covering his bills.
