Myth. Social construct. Fake science. We’re fighting for his right to have a baby.

OK, so why can’t a boy, or a transgender, do the same? Because they might be successful?

Like I said earlier, if the transgender athlete finishes in last place, the mere fact that they were competing against girls wouldn’t be an issue.

My last statement may have been a hit hyperbolic, but it was to illustrate a larger point.

We are still learning about gender dysphoria, gender identity, the impact of hormone treatments, and so much more. Shit, we still don't have a full grasp of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, and other similar ailments.

So to deny someone a chance to participate just because they are different is wrong.

We need to place less emphasis on winning in high school sports. We're the only major country that places high school and collegiate sports on this high of a pedestal.

Scholastic sports should be about opportunity, learning how to lead a healthy life, teamwork, and more. Your life shouldn't center around coming in first at a high school track meet.

So are you going to check the genitalia of every competitor? If not, how do you draw the line in your world? Is it whoever looks like a man? What if a girl has broad shoulders or a boy has wide hips?

Just remember that competitive sports teams are zero sum games. For every transgendered person who makes the team a sic girl does not. And the reason is that, on average, a transgendered person who is now female has physiological advantages. This isn’t about our politics, it’s about the displaced girls’ opportunities, as well as the trans persons’ opportunities.

How come for every MTF trans person who wants to play girls’ sports there isn’t a corresponding FTM trans person who is competing in boys sports?

Most high school teams don't cut people from the roster, at least at public schools. You may be on the fringe of varsity/junior varsity, but you're still allowed to participate. So finite roster spots are not an argument.

As far as displaced girls' opportunities, they're allowed to compete. Sticking with track, since they're the impetus behind this discussion: Cis girls are allowed to sign up for the team and compete in their respective events. You're proposing denying an individual that opportunity just because she is transgender.

There is no guarantee of success for anyone in sports. You're simply granted the chance to compete. I'd like to know if you or these girls in Connecticut would be making the same arguments if they were going up against Tori Bowie or Allyson Felix, who medaled at the last Olympics. They were superior athletes in high school. Did they rob non-Olympic level girls of the chance to compete and win?

And you're just not paying attention to the right stories if you don't think there aren't high profile MTF transgender athletics cases. Chris Mosier of the US Olympics Duathlon team is a big one. And ESPN did a 30 for 30 special on Mack Beggs, who was forced to wrestle against girls in high school while transitioning to male.

Mediocre male athletes are dominating women when they are competing. Issue isn’t the trans women finishing in back of the pack because they aren’t.

Regardless the issue is that it is women’s and men’s sports. Compete where your biology is, not your self identified gender.

No. My response was because you made the asinine comparison to biology being used to deny civil rights.

If it comes down to it, no.

I’m willing to fuck up girls playing football or wrestling to save girls from having to play softball, basketball or field hockey with boys.

No. The doctor does that with the sports physical.

I was being hyperbolic in that specific comparison, but science and biology were absolutely used to deny civil rights and promote slavery.

Any ethical doctor would correctly label an individual in the process of transitioning or who has already transitioned as their current gender, not their birth gender, or risk a massive lawsuit and potential review by the medical board.

    Try again.
