The interview was yesterday. It was interesting. The job involves writing articles about hospital CEOs for hospital CEOs. I have the skills to do the job. It's just a question of learning about a new subject matter and learning new content management systems.

I think it went well, not perfect, but well. I did the best I could.

    I hope it works out.

    You can do it.

Many reporters outside of sports are often writing about subjects they know little about at first.

They will tell you the important stuff. Just fill in the blanks and over sell them.

Received an email yesterday saying they hired someone else.

Somebody has to win and somebody has to lose, I guess.

Maybe it's for the best, but I'm running out of time.

Perhaps instead of wasting time going for jobs I can't get, maybe I should think about picking up and second and perhaps even a third minimum wage job. It's a little disheartening to think it's the best I can do, but maybe it is. A lot of people have to do it.

One of my best friends from the last newspaper job is now working at a nursing home. He asked me to join him at the home, washing dishes. It pays a little more than what I'm making now. Not enough to leave my current job. I'd still need it. I'm going to hold off on it until next month when my shift changes from noon to 8:30 to 3-11:30. With noon to 8:30, it's difficult to do anything on either end.

It's a little disheartening to think all I can get are minimum-wage jobs, but maybe that's all I'm worth. Do I really have minimum skills and a minimum work ethic?

I have another interview next Wednesday for a communications assistant job with three Catholic churches.

The phone interview was last week. I enjoyed it and it seemed to go well.
