    I think they're talking two different things here. Bree seems to be addressing the wider net of art, the gatekeepers, etc. He seems to just be talking about voting for the best in a category, that their gender or race shouldn't be a factor in the recognition.

    One person’s perception of systemic or implicit bias is another person’s relatively objective opinion. But opinions are informed by experiences and biases. Which opinion is more worthy of respect? The one that intends no pre-judgement or one that openly accepts a bias as necessary for redress
