When they went for two, they were going to be down three scores regardless of what they did. Going for two gave them the opportunity to make those three scores two touchdowns and a field goal rather than three touchdowns. If they kicked the PAT or missed the 2-pointer, those three scores were going to be touchdowns either way. There was no downside to it, considering the slim odds they'd even get the first two touchdowns to make the third score relevant.
After the 49ers went back up by 17 it didn't matter because the game was over. There wasn't enough time to get two more touchdowns.

They also had Matt Lafleur on their staff as the quarterbacks coach for the RGIII season, and Sean McVay was their offensive coordinator for three years.

Think they were a Goodell creation. Need we say more?

Understood. He's still under his rookie NFL contract.

This is paying his bills a lot more than his meager game checks, relatively speaking.

After his second contract, we'll see who is still on the payroll ... that deal will allow him to be much more selective if he so chooses.

The Shield should celebrate this one. Two young quarterbacks, one a recent MVP. They might be ready to finally start the migration past the group of QBs that have been in the league 15+ seasons.

My favorite part of this is Packers fans all had that bullshit "THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES BRENT" after Favre retired and it looked like Rodgers could win three or four Super Bowls.

Look where we are 10 years later.

That they've had almost 30 consecutive years with a Hall of Fame quarterback and only won two Super Bowls -- especially in a conference where there hasn't been a dominant dynasty during most of that span -- is nothing short of an astounding fail.

Yet these teams keep doing it. Why?

Nantz is the most overrated (and possibly obnoxious) dude in broadcasting.
