Ed Orgeron, bona fide undefeated national championship head football coach at Louisiana State University of the Southeastern Conference.

Who had that square in the pool 5 years ago? Lol

Every so often something becomes part of the lexicon that makes you scratch your head, mostly in appreciation.

Ed Orgeron, undefeated national champion head football coach at LSU is one.

Lin Manuel Miranda is the other.

LSU finally got a QB to match all their other talent.

Unless they kick this game off at 7 or play it on Friday night, they really are screwed because of the NFL.

But, if they played this game on Friday night, what an amazing football weekend it would be.

I finally tapped out at 42-25 midway through 4.

All these changes, except the 12-minute halftime, simply increase the proportion of the 60:00 of official game time used to run the clock between plays, and decrease the proportion of that 60:00 used on playing football.

Watching the replay of the coaches film room.....when Mike Gundy finally decides to quit coaching, ESPN should snatch him up in a blur to do color.

This year, with three teams clearly better than the others, was actually a pretty good argument for the four-team playoff. A BCS two-team playoff would've been very unfair to one of the unbeatens. But eight? What competitive games would there have been in the first round, with the addition of four teams the committee thought were worse than Oklahoma? Oregon (or another team) against Oklahoma might have been a good game, but Georgia was blown out by LSU in the SECCG and wouldn't have given Ohio State or Clemson much trouble. Would Wisconsin-LSU or -Clemson have been close? Doubt it. As for the G5, Memphis or Boise against one of the top three? No thanks. Can't see any other team making a game out of it either, unless maybe you could change history and have Tua not get hurt and have Alabama beat Auburn to have a case for the top 8.

Was this LSU squad the greatest CFB team of all time?

Impossible to answer if it was even the greatest college team of this century. 2001 Miami, one of Saban's Alabama teams with a defense back in '08 and '09. Pete Carroll's USC team in '04, they were all pretty good, too.

The "best" college football team is a pool of 10.

LSU '19 would be in that pool.

This LSU team against Carroll's best USC team would be a sweet matchup.

That's all true. But then, you could go to the other extreme where the clock ONLY runs during a play, guaranteeing you a full 60 minutes of action.

    And a seven-hour TV window.
