    There's the trump card.
    If it turns out (and I think it will) that they were equally as guilty of doing the same shit Houston was, he has no choice but to give the same suspension.
    It makes MLB look worse than they do now if they don't.

    Agreed. Vacated titles are stupid gestures. We all know who won on the field, regardless of whether they cheated or not. The stigma will still be there.

    These penalties (and whatever is to come for Boston) are designed as deterrents for future misbehavior.
