The main trouble with Brady as any other team's quarterback is that said team knows it's buying a very expensive solution to a problem it will then have two years later at best. With franchising, you then have the same problem coming back at the end of the next season as your best case scenario.

I think Tannehil already having cleared $75m over his career and experienced a lot of losing might make him a little more flexible with Tennessee. He's not going to resign for the same $2m he got this year. Most teams budget by position/position group - the Titans can shift the $20m they gave to Mariota this year to Tannehill.

I’m not saying the don’t have a point. But when Marvin Lewis was given a decade to win a playoff game and failed and kept his job and Hue Jackson was given a whole season to win a game, failed and kept his job, there’s more than racism going on. plenty of white coaches were given short tenures, even fired after 1 year. Plenty fired after 2 years. Giants will be playing MacAdoo, Shurmur and Judge next season.

The Ravens defensive coordinator and offensive coordinator didn’t get HC jobs and they have the best records in the league.

the problem is there’s a lack of black generational wealth that owns sports franchises and can do what they want with their toys.

David Tepper was the middle child of an accountant and school teacher fromEast Pittsburg whose father was physically abusive and who worked his way through Pitt. He inherited nothing and is worth billions. His 2012 paycheck was $2.2 Billion.

there are more David Teppers owning franchises than Rooney’s and Maras. Not the scion of generational wealth but the creators of generational wealth. If those folks want to hire the guy that makes them feel comfortable, they’ve earned it. And fuck Marvin Lewis for interviewing for jobs he knows he won’t take or get. If he knows he’s a token interview then fuck him for knowingly being an Uncle Tom.
And to Stephen A Ignorant, don’t like it, earn 3 billion. Buy a team and hire Melo to coach it.

It’s real hard to make the case the NFL is racist when African American players, and white players, can rape and beat their wives, girlfriends and children with relative impunity and remain on the receiving end of hundred thousand dollar weekly paychecks and multiple jobs.

Michael, I know the Broncos have problems that have nothing to do with football, but their rather pointless romance with Manning would appear to be a warning to others to think hard before doing the same.

The Patriots don't overpay - that is virtuous in today's league and it's the true Patriot Way. I saw a stat the other day that with all the players who have come through New England, Stanley Morgan is still the club's all-time leading receiver - and he's been retired for 30 years.

The Brady-McDaniels offense was built to go to the tight ends (Gronk) and slot guys (Welker/Edelman). It eats its favorite receivers because it serves them up for endless big hits. Gronk got out while the getting was good. Edelman might not be able to tie his shoes or count to 10 by his 50th birthday. The wideouts have been Randy Moss and a collection of JAGS over 20 years. That's not fair to Troy Brown, who was a very good player, but hardly a perennial All-Pro candidate.

You can bet the Patriots have tapped his phone and are videotaping him around the clock so they have the necessary intel on the matter.

The NFL needs to take a look at the Rooney Rule, no question, as there appears to be legitimate issues. I just wish many of the arguments we’re hearing and columns we’re reading provided more depth than “Eric Bieniemy has more experience and is subjectively more qualified than Joe Judge, so there’s obviously some racist conspiracy against him.”

He won 11 and playoff game with the Bucs and in the next 2 seasons won 10 and 9 and didn’t win a playoff game in either season. And in the first season without him the same basic team won 12 and a Super Bowl. Sounds like Rich McKay put together a good team and St Tony couldn’t get the most out of his players.
How many more rings should he have won with the Colts?
It’s not enough he got into the HOF on the strength of a single Super Bowl win with the best QB of his generation with HOF receivers and borderline HOF running backs, he needs to get credit for someone else’s job?

Give it a fucking rest, will ya? We get it. You don't like black people. Have the fucking decency to shut up about it.
