The legislature is back in session as of Tuesday and with it a flood of proposed bills.

    Here's one ...

    LOL.

He's going to have every helicopter parent in the state raging at him. Our kid is in the 5th grade. Of 20 kids in the class, one (1) doesn't have a cell phone - ours. Our office is right by a junior high and every kid I see outside in the morning is staring at a phone.

We held out a long time before getting our daughter a cell phone. Sometimes I wish she still didn't have one, but smart phones are just so useful as well as being distracting. What is the argument for banning them until 21? You are old enough to vote and serve in the military, but no texting?

My fourth grader was convinced Santa was going to bring him an iPhone for Christmas.

    He's handled disappointment pretty well.

I'm just shocked by it. One of the kindergarten teachers lives around the corner from us. She's talked about kids that age having phones. The parents' justification is they want to be able to communicate in an emergency.

As I told Jackson, "If you're ever somewhere where there's not already an adult with a phone nearby, you're doing it wrong."

It’s a brilliant idea on paper, but it’d hurt the tech economy too much.

Far more bad than good comes from them for kids though
